Where Nature Meets Science

Nutrition Inspired by Nature.
Refined Through Research.

Power Sprinkle began with the research of Shruti Mehta, the scientist behind its formulation, who set out to explore a fundamental question: could everyday food itself be used to make daily meals more nutritionally complete?

This research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) led to the development of Power Sprinkle and its patented food-to-food fortification technology — an innovation designed to bring better nutrition into the meals people already eat.

It started with one question.

How can we make everyday meals more nutritious without asking people to change the way they eat?

This question became the starting point of Shruti Mehta’s research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). Rather than asking people to replace meals or dramatically change familiar eating patterns, she explored whether nutrient-rich foods could be thoughtfully combined to enhance the nutritional profile of everyday meals.

The idea was simple but ambitious:

Work with people’s food, not against it.

This philosophy became the foundation of Power Sprinkle.

What is food-to-food fortification?

Food-to-food fortification uses nutrient-rich food ingredients to enhance the nutritional profile of other foods and meals.

Rather than relying only on isolated nutrients, the concept explores the nutritional diversity already present within food.

Power Sprinkle applies this philosophy by bringing together carefully selected plant-based ingredients that naturally contribute protein, fiber, healthy fats, minerals and other nutrients. It represents a food-first approach to everyday nutrition — developed through research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), and designed for the everyday plate.

Nutrient-rich foods

Carefully selected plant ingredients, each chosen for what it naturally contributes.

The meal you already cook

Dal, curry, curd, rice or batter — prepared exactly the way it always was.

A more nourishing plate

Protein, fiber, healthy fats, minerals and other nutrients — contributed by food itself.

Helping the body access nutrients

From nutrients present
to nutrients available.

The nutritional value of a food depends not only on the nutrients it contains, but also on how accessible those nutrients are to the body.

Some plant foods contain naturally occurring compounds, including anti-nutrients, that can interact with certain minerals and affect how much the body can absorb.

Power Sprinkle’s patented food-to-food fortification process was developed through research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) to address this challenge. The process is designed to help make nutrients in the formulation more bioavailable — meaning more accessible for absorption by the body — rather than focusing only on nutrient content.

In simple terms, the aim is to help the body access more of the nutrition present in the ingredients.

Shruti Mehta, the scientist behind Power Sprinkle

Research with a purpose

Meet Shruti Mehta

For Shruti Mehta, Power Sprinkle wasn’t created by beginning with a product — it began with a problem worth solving. Her research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) looked beyond nutritional composition alone to consider something equally important:

Would people actually be able to use it every day?

That thinking shaped the philosophy behind Power Sprinkle — a nutrition solution designed around familiar foods and existing eating habits, rather than asking consumers to build an entirely new routine around nutrition.

When research becomes innovation

Indian Patent No. 585477

Patented Food-to-Food Fortification Technology

As Shruti’s research progressed at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), the formulation and methodology behind the food-to-food fortification approach developed into an innovation worthy of intellectual property protection. The work ultimately resulted in a granted Indian patent.

The patent represents an important milestone in the journey of Power Sprinkle — from a research question to a scientifically developed food innovation.

Made in India

Years of thinking behind
every sprinkle.

The development of Power Sprinkle wasn’t a single moment of discovery. It was an evolving process of research, experimentation, evaluation and refinement at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay).

  1. A question

How can everyday meals deliver better nutrition?

  2. Research

Exploring food-based approaches to nutrition at IIT Bombay.

  3. Ingredient exploration

Understanding the nutritional contribution of different plant ingredients.

  4. Formulation

    Bringing complementary ingredients together.

  5. Bioavailability & absorption research

Investigating how the formulation and processing approach may help improve the availability of nutrients for absorption.

  6. Evaluation & refinement

    Developing and refining the formulation.

  7. Patent

Protecting the innovation developed through the research.

  8. Power Sprinkle

Taking the research from the laboratory to everyday meals.

Every ingredient has a purpose.

Power Sprinkle isn’t simply a collection of nutritious ingredients. Each ingredient was selected as part of a thoughtfully developed formulation based on the nutritional contribution it brings to the blend.

White sesame seeds

Contribute calcium and healthy fats.

Whole soybean

Contributes plant protein and essential amino acids.

Chickpea

Contributes plant protein and fiber.

Flaxseed

Provides plant-based omega-3 fatty acids.

Pumpkin seeds

Contribute healthy fats and minerals.

Wheat germ

Contributes vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Together, these ingredients form a plant-based nutritional blend designed to complement everyday food.

Quality with purpose

From research to every pack.

Turning scientific research into a consumer product requires attention to quality beyond the research stage. Power Sprinkle follows defined processes across ingredient selection, manufacturing, quality evaluation, packaging and storage to maintain the intended characteristics of the formulation through to the finished product.

The Power Sprinkle Daily pouch

From one question
to every meal.

It began with a scientist asking whether everyday nutrition could be approached differently. Research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) transformed that question into an idea. The idea became an innovation. The innovation became patented technology.

And that technology became Power Sprinkle — bringing science out of the laboratory and into everyday meals.

Same food. More nutrition.
